GARMENT REQUIREMENTS
For the use of BREAST FORMS
Breast cancer often results in the need for mastectomy products,
such as external breast forms for post mastectomy swimsuits or post
mastectomy bras, when reconstructive surgery, following mastectomies, is
not selected. The basic requirements are for mastectomy lingerie such
as mastectomy bras, mastectomy sleepwear or mastectomy swimsuits in
regular or plus sizes. Full figure or plus size bras for plus size or
full figured women are available from several web site stores. Special
pockets are sewn into the post mastectomy products, including mastectomy
swimsuits and mastectomy bras, to insure that the breast form maintains
a suitable position in the apparel being worn. Weight of the post
mastectomy prosthesis or post mastectomy breast form is critical for
comfort. These A LITTLE HELP post mastectomy breast prosthesis are made
available in full weight or light weight models as well as in plus size
breast prosthesis.
Apparel is specific for accommodating the post mastectomy breast
prosthesis and it is important that the pockets, that are sewn in to
accommodate the breast prosthesis, will keep it in proper position
during activities. Fashion is of utmost importance when post mastectomy
swimsuits, post mastectomy bras, post mastectomy sleepwear and post
mastectomy lingerie is designed. This specialized apparel is available
on the internet for women that have had breast cancer and subsequent
lumpectomies, partial or complete breast removal.
The transgender community and male cross dressers also use
apparel that is designed to accommodate breast forms. They are very
fashion oriented in their selection and use of lingerie, bras,
swimsuits, wigs and cosmetics. Plus sizes are frequently used.

FOUNDER'S NOTES
In
1984 I was working with one of the worlds leading suppliers of post
mastectomy breast forms, a manufacturer of mastectomy swimwear and other
prosthetic products and was told about the breast prosthesis numbers
that they had distributed the year before, in the US and
Internationally. They sold mastectomy swimwear through the medical
community along with the breast forms and other products.
At that time I thought that breast prostheses might just be a line of
products that I could develop, manufacture and sell direct to the
consumer and be able to offer prices that were a little more reasonable
than what existed in the marketplace. I tucked that thought in the back
of my mind and in 1990 began some preliminary work on the development of
external breast forms, sometimes called, external breast prosthesis. As
"time flies when you're having fun" it took me a few years to develop
what I considered a product that I could produce and sell by using the
world wide web as my "store front". The result has been that I am able
to offer the external breast forms at very reasonable prices. It is also
nice to be able to advertise the "MADE IN USA" feature for my entire
product line.
I approached my overall marketing concept from the standpoint of being
able to offer the products much like the "Factory Outlet Stores" do but
directly to customers all over the world instead of in just one small
community. Being able to accomplish the development of the product line,
represented here on this web site, has been rewarding in many ways. I
am proud of my achievements and will continue to take the product line
to new heights by developing new and improved external breast prosthesis
for women that have had mastectomies and are searching for breast forms
that are less expensive than the majority on the market today. Breast
forms and breast prostheses made with silicone gel are almost double in
price.
I was able to develop a non-silicone, visco elastic polymer gel that
replicates human breast tissue in weight and a skin system that is very
tactile feeling. The breast forms are manufactured in one basic
configuration; "tear drop shape" with a flat back. All models are
available in full weight or in the NEW LIGHT WEIGHT version. The A
LITTLE HELP model is a classic design with the faint hint of a nipple
and is available in 10 sizes. The ALTERNATE is still a classic tear drop
shape with a flat back but has a more prominent nipple available in
small, medium, large, X-Large and XX-Large. Some, would considered the
ALTERNATE a little "perky". It is offered with or without a colored
areola. The "PLUS SIZE BREAST PROSTHESIS", the ALT 32 and ALT 42 are
tear drop shaped and have a rounded appearance with no evidence of a
nipple. They come in four different skin tones. I have recently added
attachable nipples in sizes small, medium and large, in three skin
tones.
Using some advanced technology I developed light weight versions of all
the breast forms. I was able to reduce the weight by more than 15%.
They have the same soft feel of the full weight breast forms.
